As an artist, Crawford J. Wolfe sees Detroit beyond a pristine white canvas. Rough, weathered bricks straight out of an abandoned Detroit home are more his style. It’s the perfect medium to capture all aspects of Detroit art, from industrial landscapes to iconic landmarks to original uplifting designs. Crawford believes there’s no better way to communicate the city’s rich heritage than on actual pieces of architectural history. Reclaimed bricks and wood now have a second life.
Crawford was born in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan where he spent 20 years in the advertising industry as an art director for various art studios including his own, and currently lives with his wife and daughter in Grosse Pointe Park.
