Our Story

Through a deeply-rooted dedication to the upcycling effort, we print Detroit and Michigan art on historic Clippert bricks (circa 1890 to 1930), as well as on stone and artifact woods salvaged from deconstructed homes. Get a yourself a piece of Detroit's past! These historic bricks, stones and wood pieces combine to make some truly unique home decor and gifts.

Crawford J Wolfe

As an artist, Crawford J. Wolfe sees Detroit beyond a pristine white canvas. Rough, weathered bricks straight out of an abandoned Detroit home are more his style. It’s the perfect medium to capture all aspects of Detroit art, from industrial landscapes to iconic landmarks to original uplifting designs. Crawford believes there’s no better way to communicate the city’s rich heritage than on actual pieces of architectural history. Reclaimed bricks and wood now have a second life.

Crawford was born in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan where he spent 20 years in the advertising industry as an art director for various art studios including his own, and currently lives with his wife and daughter in Grosse Pointe Park.

Urban Art

Urban art is a style of art that relates to cities and city life often done by artists who live in or have a passion for city life. In that way urban art combines street art and graffiti and is often used to summarize all visual art forms arising in urban areas, being inspired by urban architecture or present urban lifestyle Motor City Brick has brought Detroit art and unique urban home decor pieces together in a "one-stop-shop" art gallery setting.
